The iMac iView is a conceptual product design by Nuno Teixeira. As you can see it's a curved iMac. It looks incredibly similar to a bad idea. But it does have one saving grace - a second screen on the back (picture after the jump). That way your office wall (long left out of computing activities) can feel included in the experience. Or if your computer doesn't back up to a wall, then it provides a great way for your coworkers to know just what porn/non-work related sites you visit all day long. Awesome, I know. But seriously, I think many of you just don't understand the usefulness of this monitor for someone like me -- someone with EYES IN THE BACK OF THEIR HEAD. What do you mean that wouldn't help me see the monitor? Sure it would. The monitor has another screen on the back and my head has eyes on the back. Thusly, according to my most recent scientific calculations, I'm a stupid asshat.

Filed under: GPS, Handhelds We've seen ourselves some major ugly in the past when it comes to rugged devices, so while this new Getac PS535E won't be swiping any work from Jonathan Ive in the near future, it won't make him cry either, which is certainly a step in the right direction. The internals are decent as well, with GPS, 802.11b/g WiFi and Bluetooth, a 400MHz Samsung processor, 64MB of SDRAM and 2GB of flash storage. There's a transflective 3.5-inch QVGA touchscreen fronting the device, and Windows Mobile 5.0 Premium is holding it all together. No word on price or availability. We're still waiting for the official press release, but that's ASUS first gaming desktop attempting to intimidate you from the CeBIT floor. The ARES CG6150 is said to offer "breathtaking performance in a menacing armor-cladded case." We'll see. One thing's for sure, they've taken more than a few design hints from Alienware. Republic of gamers, unite!

If you're looking for a major upgrade to the D40x, you'll have to look elsewhere, but Nikon has packed a few new features into its entry-level DSLR line with the D60 that should make it a slightly more attractive proposition to DSLR first-timers. The major features Nikon was touting were a new image processor and vibration, and both of those seemed to make very little difference in the camera's performance, according to the folks at PhotographyBLOG. Other small features were nice additions, but most of them are too obscure to make much of a difference to most consumers. The reviewers did find the new 18-55mm VR lens option to be highly desirable, since it's nearly the same price as the standard option, and in the end gave the D60 a "highly recommended" rating. We're not exactly sure what the special event is -- Breast Cancer Awareness Month isn't until October -- but we suppose you can celebrate the joy of pink whenever the mood strikes. Iriver is busting out pink versions for a bunch of its players, including the clix, MPlayer, D5 and recently-launched E100. Apparently a set of pink colored pencils is also included as a free "gift" with the purchase of any of these units, which should come in handy for that Precious Moments diptych we were thinking of doing. There's only one thing (okay, so maybe that's a stretch) that we love more than a mod that gives you all sorts of bragging rights: a mod that adds all sorts of utility. Tanntraad's most recent concoction -- a DIY iPod video projector -- most certainly ratchets up the PMP's functionality, as this homegrown device requires no external power, a ridiculously small amount of parts and no prior experience as a projectionist. Needless to say, the resulting unit blows up the video on your iPod for an entire room to see, and while we're sure the quality is nothing to write home about, you can give it a go yourself by following the instructions in the read link below.
